If you're not going to take them, you need to make sure you eat plenty of vitamin rich foods. i haven't been taking mine but now I've developed anemia and have to take iron pills. So try a different kind if vitamin. the gummy ones don't make you nauseous. You can also take Flintstone gummy vitamins.
They are VERY inportand not only for baby but for mommy as well you need roughly 600 mcgs of folic acid while pregnant it will help with fatigue as well as give mommy benefits some benifits include healthier skin, hair growth, nail growth, etc. you need folic acid (vitamin B9) for a number of compelling reasons. Folic acid helps prevent neural tube defects (NTDs)—serious birth defects of the spinal cord (such as spina bifida) and the brain (such as anencephaly). Neural tube defects occur at a very early stage of development, before many women even know they're pregnant. They affect about 3,000 pregnancies a year in the United States. To reduce your baby's risk of developing a neural tube defect, experts recommend that you take 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid per day, beginning at least a month before you start trying to get pregnant. Hope this helped! :)
I smoked when pregnant with my first two and they were healthy. That doesn't make it OK for all women to smoke while pregnant. If you can't take prenatals ask your doctor about an alternative to do what's best for your baby is all I advise
They made me sick also. My first son i didnt take them because of it and he came out 7 pounds and 14oz. No health problems. Hes now 2 years old and is 2'11 and 37 pounds. And has been advanced. Crawling at 4 months and walking at 7 months and already saying sentences at a year old. No damage done by not taking the prenatals.
But just because your kids are healthy doesn't mean all kids will be. I know lack of folic acid can cause anencephaly or however it's spelled
Wow 12 weeks? I guess different doctors have different medical opinions!
My Dr told me that after 12 weeks they aren't as important because by then all of the important stuff is developed. I've had a hard time taking mine because they always make me sick and so far my first daughter is perfectly healthy and my second pregnancy has been perfectly normal.
Thays my go to site lol , all the answers hahaha
Aaahhhhh webmd!!! Lol that site makes me a hypochondriac and might be giving me muncheusens syndrome lol
It's a good idea during pregnancy to take a prenatal vitamin to help cover any nutritional gaps in the mother's diet.
Prenatal vitamins contain many vitamins and minerals. Their folic acid, iron, and calcium are especially important.
