probably posted before but what's your nursery theme???

we're trying for looney toons, but wow, it's getting just as exp to put (1) sheet, a comforter bumper and skirt on a crib as it is when i bought suede for my KING sized bed!!!!!

and looking online isnt much better...anyone have any ideas?

so what's your theme?

i decided to just buy a lime and lemon sheet, and chris bought the fuzzy blanket with the characters, and aside from wall deco in our theme, i think i'm gonna do lime!!!!!

I bought the alphabet soup bed set from Babies R Us. It was a little expensive but I love the bright colors and the animals and numbers. Anyways after that I couldn't think of a theme for the life of me to go with it. Well one day I was at Ikea just browsing and I found a cute little mobile and curtains and  mosquito netting for over the bed... and all of it reminded me of the circus. So that is her theme... the circus. I'm still trying to get my apartment complex to allow me to paint the walls but they aren't really going for it. But I did find some retro circus posters that I want to frame and put up on the walls. The good thing about it is if I ever do have more kids it can go for either gender! :)

Oh yeah, Linzola, I love that paint! I buy "Oops Paint" from Home Depot. You can get Ralph Lauren or Behr paint for $5 a gallon because they mis-tinted someone's order. You can't beat that!!! I used Oops paint in both girls' rooms. 4 colors for the price of 1!!!

My theme is Nohas Ark. I saved a bundle on it. I got the whole set including sheet, bedskirt, quilt and bumpers for 35.00 on sale. We got a great deal on the paint also. We searched the mess up paints at walmart and I got the paint for 4.75 and it was a better match than the original color I liked. We did also get a good deal on the crib and dresser but still combined cost 500.00 but are 100% solid oak and the crib is a 4 in 1 so it will grow with him.

I looked online and found some great sites that offered free shipping and no tax, along with there prices were reduced.  I am doing a jungle thing, NoJo theme.. I found it all at babymall.com, I think... But they had some great stuff on sale too.. I even got my crib online and paid no tax or shipping for it.. csnbaby.com  I saved alot of money and if you find a site you like, do a search on coupon codes and may even save you more.. Diapers.com always has 10.00 off coupons, and free shipping and again no tax... And they deliver almost the very next day..

Okay, I love these topics because I love decorating. I have two little girls:

Elaina's room is lime green on one wall and the other three walls are a caribbean blue. Her theme is butterflies.

Abigail's room is celestial/angel theme with pale blue and pale yellow walls. I actually posted photos if you check out my profile there are 3 pictures of each room!

As for saving money, GO TO CONSIGNMENT STORES! Buy everything in solid colors and then use decorations to show off your theme. Basically plain ol' sheets, skirt, etc.  You actually don't need a bumper, they are a SIDS risk. You can buy breathable ones at One Step Ahead's website.

And then to accentuate your theme, use wall decor, throw pillows, lamp/nightlight.

I haven't done a theme for my babies in a while.  But the last 1 I did was Noah's Ark.

Anyway, I thought that with future babies it was very universal and could be used for boys and girls.  It's just full of pretty colors and animals.  I really like it.  I just got a crib set, mobil, lamp, night light, and a picture frame.  I think I got some sort of plaque for the wall too.  But some of that was given to me as gifts.  I didn't buy it all myself!!!  The comforter is really thick, soft and cushy!!!  I have used that thing for 4 kids now!!!  LOL!  So, it was worth the money!!
