progesterone suppositories cause spotting?

I have been spotting for several days.  I am 5 weeks pregnant today.  I am wondering, after doing some research, if my spotting is from the suppositories?  It looks like the medicine, except brown.  I see it in the toilet after I pee and sometimes in my underwear (on my pad).  I really hope my spotting is from this and not miscarriage

Hi There,

I'm using the Crinone progesterone suppositories. I haven't had any spotting but I know that it is common in early pregnancy. If it is bright red, clots, and accompanied by pain/cramping....then see your doctor. Otherwise, put your feet up and try to relax. The suppositories don't cause spotting. They are simply to help support your pregnancy progesterone levels. If you can't relax, then give your doctor a call just to help ease your mind.

Best of Luck!

If you are experiencing brown spotting you need to let your doctor know.  The brown color is not from the progesterone suppositories and could very well be blood.  Do call your doctor.
