I do try to take temps same time... except weekends, which is usually higher than the trend (because I wake up late)
I chart here, please take a look at it and do let me know if you see any trend :-)

They would have to do a blood test to determine if your progesterone is low.  However, I do know that extra progesterone will NOT hurt you.  It would just have an increase and it would be okay..it may mess with your af though if you ended up not pregnant.  Do you chart on here?  There should be a dip in your temperature.  Are you taking your temperature at the same time of everyday?

but how would anyone know someone is low on progesterone (without doing a blood test or anything like that)?
I was prescribed prometrium too, without testing anything.  My doc just assumed my progeterone is low, and said 'here, try these for few months'....
the next time around, she was like, 'ya,make sure you start taking it every month after ovulation has occurred'  my first concern is that I have no clue if and when I ovulate every month.  I am trying to chart temps (for ~4months now), and they are all over the place...
so, I am not strong follower of prometrium yet

Like 30something13 said, I'm not going to repeat it all.  I am having spotting and I am on prometrium pills.  My progesterone was 3.2 or a 2.2 and I AM pregenant.  They told me I would more than likely miscarry.  However, the spotting has slowed down and I'm praying that this baby will make it.  If I do however miscarry this time around, I will be on prometrium until I no longer do not want any children.

Oh and your luteal phase should be a full 14 days! If you are getting your period in 10 days then your progesterone levels need to be rechecked as you might need more progesterone! you need mroe time for a baby to implant.

Prometrium is to help raise the progesterone to aid in implantation of the baby. It is taken the day after Ovulation and till the period occurs. Now as it raises the progesterone it can delay your period if you are not pregnant as during the luteal phase (after ovulation) your progesterone will decrease and estrogen levels will rise talling your body to shed the uterine lining causeing yoru period to occur. When you take suppliments the progesterone stays up and may not fall till stopped. That is why you are always to have a beta hCG blood draw on the 32-33 day of your cycle to see if pregnancy has taken place. When your progesterone is low then you can spot with pregnancy and if you atop it then you will almost idefinetly mc! Also if you miss a dose or do not take it right on time during your luteal phase. Little spotting during the luteal ophase is a good sign that implantation might have taken place if it takes place over just a day and then turnss brown.

I have taken prometrium, the cream, suppositories, and the shots. I lost twons with 3 children and triplets. I had all 4 babies early and my 5 who is now 4 months is the first I did not bleed troughout my pregnancy and had full term. I lost a baby at 4 weeks 5 days right before him due to the pharmacy sending me my suppliments 3 days late! That is all it takes if you are low. I was 4.6 after ovulation before I got the meds.

SO never stop the meds unless you have a full normal period or until you are confirmed by blood test that you are not pregnant. It ahs to be blood to not urine!

Hope this helps and good luck ttc
