Is it okay to only pump and feed baby breast mmilkk ? And if i did would i also formula feed as well? And would i be able to pump enough ? I went to wic office and they flipped out saying its only healthy if baby latches but honestly i am just not comfortable with breadtfeeding idk why you can judge me if you want but i just dont like it but would still love for my baby to get the nutrients thats why i was thinking of pumping it?  Please give me any insight you have on this ?

Wow how rude if them to say!! You can totally pump and supplement with formula. The only snag you might run into is keeping your supply up. Theres something about the baby latching on that seems to stimulate more, therefore keeping your supply up better than just pumping. It's your body and baby. If your not comfortable with it dont let anyone make you feel bad for whatever you decide on doing.

Your not a bad mommy at all I pumped for my son because he has poor muscle tone in his jaw he is just fine and baby will respond better to you during feedings if you are relaxed and comfortable so go with what makes you the most comfortable baby will be just fine I had to formula feed my twins due to their premature birth and the antidepressant I was put on by my neontologist that I was seeing because I was high risk pregnancy with the twins the twins are as healthy as can be even healthier than my son their brother whom was breast fed for his first four months so please do what makes you the most comfortable when it comes to feeding and be rest assured baby and you will both be happier and healthy no matter how feeding is done

You can give formula while pumping to breast feed but like others said it will be hard to keep up milk supply.  Make sure to get the right pump, my first wouldnt latch so I had to pump but I lost my milk by 8 weeks and had to supplement with formula the whole time.  Turns out I didnt have the right type of pump and didnt do it enough.  I thought I would have problems having a baby breastfeed but my son did and I actually found pumping more awkward.  You milk supply does change with baby and their needs and I am not sure it will adjust as well using a pump but I think if you got the right one it would.  And breastmilk is better than formula when an option.  Also be careful when supplementing with formula too much as with my second I solely breastfeed and pumped first 10 months but when he never switch to every 3-4 hours like most babies but continued to do every 2 hours I decided to supplement thinking I will still give all feedings at home til a year but my milk dried up in a week or two.

You can switch at anytime or do both at the same time it doesnt really matter. The only real big difference is its harder in my opinion. Also not every mom responds to a pump but when baby latches on she produces perfectly because its better suction. That could be one of the things that could ruin that plan.

Just curious and dont take it as me being rude just curiousity. Why pump instead? Ive always been curious as to peoples reasonings of why.

Is it ok to breast feed and do formula at the same time? Like when i go out give my baby formula and when we home feed him breast milk?

I would ignore the comments from the WIC office. Your baby will be perfectly fine drinking breast milk from a bottle. Also I do not see why you couldn't switch to formula after a time.

I plan on pumping and bottle feeding. I am the same way, i dont feel comfortable breast feeding. I formula fed my first son, but want to try something else with this one. So im going to research more and talk to my midwife more etc but i plan on it and if not then i will formula feed.

Its possible but a lot harder to keep your supply up. You would need to pump about every 2 hours at least to keep up with baby.

I don't see how it could be bad!  Idk tho I'm a ftm.  I'm planning on doing the same thing because I wouldn't feel comfortable with my baby sucking on my *** so I'm going to pump the milk out and feed him like that..  Another reason why I wanted to only pump is so I know exactly how much oz he drinks.
