question about my son

My son just turned eleven months old and the past couple of Weeks he's been excessively whiney and excessively sleeping, he's not running a fever or anything, I thought maybe it was his teeth.but I'm not sure, is it bad that he's excessively sleeping, everyone says he's just growing but like today hes only been awake maybe 5 or 6 hours total its 7:00 pm and he's asleep again already

My son is also excessively whiney and sleeps a lot when not feeling well. It could be a cold coming on. You know how you can get achey and even a sore throat before anything else....it could be something like that.
He is also very clingy when feeling ill too.....it's soooooo frustrating. Hang in there!

The first thought that popped into my head was perhaps a virus of some sort?  My son rarely runs a fever with a virus, but can become more lethargic, grumpy and usually his appetite is off.

My Dr. always says that behavior is the best indicator of a medical issue.  If this has been going on for a couple of weeks, I would have him looked it.  It's probably nothing to worry about, but always best to err on the side of caution.  All the best to you.
