scared expectant mom

Question

I am over weight and I had sooo many complications with my 1st pregnancy @ the end & during delivery including pre-eclmycia, hypertension, diabetes, and morbid obesity needless 2 say I almost died I was in icu for 3 days I had a ventilator and was unable 2 c my daughter(now 1yrs old) I hospitalized for 2 else total I'm fine today, but I'm expecting again and scared 4 my life has any1 ever been through this and survived a 2moro time please help?

I'm morbidly obese but touch wood have had an ok pregnancy. I'm 31+3 my bp is a little high around 140/80 so not overly. But everything else seems fine. Talk to your doctor and all though dieting is not a good idea you can start eating healthy.

I would also suggest looking into a dietitican through the hospital your going to go to, they should be able to set you up with a good eating plan for this pregnancy which should help with your weight issues and maybe your diabetes as well, also starting moderate excercise and making sure you drink plenty of fluid would be a start, I'm sure you will also be termed high risk because of your last issues and will be looked after, good luck :)

I had a very complicated first pregnancy nothing like almost dying but had to have my appendix removed in my first trimester my gull bladder needed to come out by my second and I was in the first stage of labor for 4 days before they finally had to induce me to move things along because my heart rate was so elevated I was about to have a heart attack at 20! I am 30w2d pregnant with #2 and this pregnancy has been much easier. Good luck!!!
