scared of having another preemie

i had my son at 34 weeks premeture he was 5 pounds 4ounces and he other then jaundice and apneas he was pretty healthy and had no serious problems , he stayed in the hospital for almost 3 weeks. we dont know why he was born early .but he is now a BIG strong 17 month old . now i am almost 30 weeks pregnant with my second son and as i get closer and closer to my due date im getting more and more nervous about going into labour early again , i really dont want to have another preemie even though my first boy was fine i just dont want to have to go through it again. so i was wondering if anyone has had a preemie baby and then had a full term baby  ? what are the chances of having another preemie ? is there any test or anything i can ask my doctor about  ? i know he wouldnt be able to tell me when the baby will come but i just need some more information so i can feel reasurred , should i be on bed rest ? also another thing that is worrying me ( sorry if this is too much information ) for the past 4 weeks or so ive been having very thick, snot like discharge and ive been told thats what your mucus plug looks like . should i be worried about this ?

I've had 2 preemies born at 26 and 27 weeks and I am now 38 weeks 4 days pregnant with my third. Just take it easy and don't over do anything

I have a friend who had her first son at 33/34 weeks.  The doctors couldn't ever determine what caused him to come early (ie. due to infection or something)....so, the next time she was pregnant, her OB told her that it was "unlikely" she'd have another preemie.  Lo and behold, he was right: she had her second son at 39 weeks.  

I'd speak to your doctor/midwife, but unless you're predisposed to preterm labour or something, I wouldn't think that you'd necessarily have another premature baby.

My eldest was born at 32 weeks...then with my next child I went into preterm labour which they stopped and then I ended up having to be induced at 41 weeks. My third child was born at almost 42 weeks, induced.
