Well the problem with saying its too low is that if you have symptoms due to pregnancy, it means implantation has already occurred therefor causing the symptoms. In a few days it should be more than high enough to be detected by a standard urine test.

Im kind of going through the same thing. Two weeks ago I had a dull pain in the front middle and to the right abdominal pain. I went to the doctor and he said it was IBS. The next week I ended up being late on my period by 2 days and it ended up showing up but not the norm. It was very light barly a flow. Thst was tues jan 17th. a couple of days later I am bloated, backaches, feels like pressure or stretching, but my boobs are not sore at all. Last friday I have been feeling sick to my stomach when ever I eat something or if my stomach is empty. I went to the doctor last night mon jan 23 they did a pee test and also a blood test. The doctor said its either im pregnant or I have cysts on my ovaries. I go for a vaginal ultrasound to see whats goin on. I feel like crap and just would like to know whats goin on with me.

Over the counter pregnancy tests are sensitive enough to pick up 20 mIU of hCG. If your levels remains that low for several weeks, it's an indicator that the pregnancy is not viable, if you are indeed pregnant. In a viable pregnancy the hCG hormone will double every 48 hours or so. Depending on how early you are (if pregnant) its possible ultrasound also will show nothing. You need a beta blood test to check your hCG levels and see what they're at. If they're under 5 you're not pregnant.

I did that with my second son I took a home test that was negative then went to the doctor and had a blood test done that was negative. four weeks later I missed another period and took another home test. It was positive when I went back to the doctor they said I was two months along. Apperently I am a person who shows very low hormone levels so it takes a while for any test to show up. maybe ask for an ultra sound.

If all four tests came back negative chances are your not pregnant. Alot of things can cause these symptoms. Stress and changes in your cycle could be what is delaying your period. If your still not convinced go in for a blood test. Best of luck to you
