sleeping on side

I am 21weeks 4days prego, this is my 3 pregnancy, n my question is, is it normal to sleep on the left side n not be able to breath? I didn't go through this with my other two. Whenever I lay on that side it is really hard to catch my breath. Has anyone else experienced this??

I have a hard time sleeping on my left too.  The left is the "best"...then the right.  You should avoid the back altogether.  For me, my back was most comfortable.  Typically I propped myself up on 3 or 4 pillows and slept sleeping upright most nights.  Or I would stick a pillow under the right hip and sleep kinda on my left but not all the way over.

Your body will wake you up and you wont be breathing very well if you're in a position that is going to hurt the baby - so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My hips hurt all the time.  Try sleeping with a pillow between your legs, long ways, so the entire pillow brings your leg up.  It helped me.

O really? Ok cause I was getting a lil scared cause I have heard that its better to sleep on left side, but I can't, n I also feel my heart beat faster at times. N the only reason I lay back on that side is because my hips or back end up hurting from laying on my right side.

I also experienced this, with all 3 of my pregnancies actually. They recommend sleeping on your left side because it improves blood flow, but I've always ended up sleeping on my right side.

However, I would go ahead and call my OB and ask if they want to see you :-).
