temps and pregnancy

hi ladies i have been readiing your charts and your posts to each other. i have noticed many you all talking about if your temp does not drop after you have o'ed then you are most likly pregnant. why is that. do pregnant women have higher temps then women who are not pregnant. my temp is low and has been low all cycle. i am not sure if i O'ed yet but i did have a little spike but nothing to high it did not even make it to 98 degrees. does that mean that i did not O or does that mean because my temps are low that i am not pregnant. please explain.

If your going to temp vaginally you have to stick with that the whole cycle you cant go back and forth as you will get different readings,
The coverline is if you have the same temp for more then 4 days, in you cycle it gives you the average of what your body is, So when you start getting a increase in temp then it would be above what the regular temp would be, the coverline..

To begin BBT is easy to do. You must start temping at the beginning of your cycle, doing it everyday at the same time before you get up. When you O your temperature will go up .4 degrees either over a couple days or right after O. If you have 14 days of consistent temps then you are more the likely pregnant but some people have longer cycles. Also some people get implantation dips where you temp drops a lot in your TWW.  If your temps are low to begin with i wouldn't worry that much if your temps are normal as long as it goes over the cover line. There is websites that can help you track your temps and determine if you have ovulated.

Just type in google basal body temperature and it will give you all sorts of great sites
