tests still positive?!

i posted a question on here yest....

right i went to the pregnancy advisory service today at the hospital...i had an internal examination to check for left over tissue, as many ppl on here said this could cause pregnancy tests to still be positive 2 months after an abortion. theres no tissue that can be seen.

about an hour ago i was just potterin about when i felt like i had come on my period. i went to the toilet but it wasnt blood it was a really light pink colour discharge :/
i was just wondering if anyone had any idea what this could mean. surely implantation would have happened by now if i was pregnant seeing as i was due on on the 20th june?

i had tablets BEFORE the actual abortion. when i went for the first tablet i had that and  they gave me 5 tablets to take with my dinner and 4 to take with my tea....they didnt explain what these were though :/ then i had to go back 2 days later for the actual procedure

i got a leaflet but even that didnt say about the pill i re-read it like 3 days ago. i didnt get any tablets either :/

really true about the next pregnancy possibly endin in miscarriage? i was around 8 weeks 2 days

you would have known by now! do you live in england??? But after your termination you SHOULD have got a booklet and tablets to take for  week to prevent infection... I had sex just before the 2 weeks ended and im fine... They just say it to be on the safe side.. but you should have got a booklet and tablets.. and the booklet should of explained, the pill doesnt work for 21 days after anything like termination birth and Miscarrige.... But you can get pregnant straight away but ive seen alot and experienced that your pregnancy after an termination doesnt matter how long it takes (Even a year or 2) it ends in MC... well its a possibility... How far gone were you? Because it takes time for your womb to heal if you're over 12 weeks...
I was 22 and it toook 3 - 4 months for my womb to heal...

But I had anorexia too which made it take longer.. then I got preg when I got bettter and had an MC nd then got preg in the same week.. LOL...

But they should run more tests LOL

no not tht i can remember, it mite av been just under 2 weeks? the hospital didnt tell me any of this at all. and the doctor didnt tell me about the pill not been effective for 21 days....i went 4 days after and he asked me when i had the abortion and everythin! he just told me i could start takin it straight away. how do i go about testin to see if got an infection?

Ohh, another thing you didnt have sexual contact of any kind for the first 2 weeks after your abortion either did you? only cause of infections, and stuff.
But there could be something else more wrong with you (Not trying to scare you, and or with your Hormone levels which could lead to something else, then you can get them done if there is because they didnt do their job properly.

we havent had sex without a condom, and non of the condoms ever split or anythin :/
nope i havent had blood tests. my doctor wont do them and the hospital is refusin to too as they say theres no need....im not pregnant :/

Did you have sex without a Condom within 21 days after your abortion because if you did then youu might be! Because your pill wouldnt work AT ALL untill 21 days after....

After my abortion (Which was for medical reasons of me being 5 stone) so yeah. I only had a pos test for 3 weeks after...
After my MC I had a neg test a week later. But got pregnant in the same week.
Have they done a blood test??

it can take a long time for the rest of the hormones to get out of your system meaning still positive pregnancy tests. I've heard of woman getting neg as early as a month after a abortion or miscarriage and my friend had positive results for 4 months after her miscarriage when they were POSITIVE she wasnt pregnant anymore from doing scans.

IDK hun. I guess in a month they should be able to see something if it is a new pregnancy....the best you can do is treat your body as if you are pregnant and wait and see...Sorry.  I wish they would do bloodwork or something though.

That's strange that they wont do blood tests....I would do an at home preg test every week for that month that way you can see if the line gets fainter or not.  I've heard it has taken some people a long time for the hcg to leave their system after miscarriages so I guess it could be the same for an abortion...
Also, when people have miscarriages they are super fertile for 3 months afterwards so it could also be a new pregnancy...

this is wat im tryin to say lol, i am on the pill and we havent had unprotected sex. so im sure im not pregnant. the internal scan didnt show a pregnancy either. i had the abortion because i had no where to live, me and my boyfriend have combined savings of like hardly anythin, it wasnt fair to bring a baby into that.
and ye i went for a scan on the first to see if it was i was pregnant as tests are still coming up positive. they are refusing to do blood tests at the hospital, they think its just a case of wait another month and do a urine test then take it from there :/
i no abortion isnt a form of birth control, im not plannin on having another ever again thats y were been super careful and hardly ever have sex. i feel really guilty about it, if id have been able to offer a stable home for a child i would have gone ahead, i wouldnt have thought about it twice :/

When you went there did they say if your crevix was closed, open?? if it was closed good chance it is a new pregnancy... Did you have unprotected sex after your abortion? b/c if you did again it could be a new pregnancy... when you went to  the hospital did you tell them that hpt are coming up positive?? they would do a blood test to find out if its a new pregnancy.... During pregnancy some people spot for days to all 9 months, so spotting can be normal...so it might be a new pregnancy... I don't mean to get in your personal life but why did you choose an abortion??? were you not ready to have a child or medical?? I had a abortion many years ago I was 20 and I already had a 3 year old and I was raped (so really I didn't want a child that would remind me of a bad time) but if you got an abortion b/c you were not ready then you should be more careful and start some birth control and use CONDOMS. The children did nothing wrong and abortion is not a type of birth control they can actually cause problems down the road when you do what children a few years later I tryed and tryed to have another baby and ended up miscarring two babies and all the doctors I saw said good chance it was due to the abortion b/c it left scar tissue..
