Just be careful bc you have a long ways yet to go, and your risks for having gestational diabetes, preclampsia, and having to have a c-section will increase if you gain too much..remember too, that in your last 4-5 weeks of pregnancy, you can gain up to a pound a week and you don't wanna have to try to work so much weight off and still take care of a newborn :)

It is a bit much, but its your body and you're the one that has to deal with the consequences of gaining too much during pregnancy (back pain, joint pain, etc) and of course the post effects of trying to lose that excess weight your body doesn't really need. Steady weight gain is always best for you and baby. Realistically, the only people who need to gain more than 35 lbs are those that were underweight to begin with.

I've gained 40 lbs so far, I'm delivering my twins in 2 weeks thank goodness. Doesn't seem bad for twins but I did start out about 25 lbs overweight so its depressing!

When I got pregnant with my first I was 15 and 105 lbs by the end of my pregnancy I was 155lbs I gained in my boobs butt and thighs and I lost it all within 2 months of her being born I'm now 4 months with my son and haven't gained anything. Every pregnancy is different! Don't worry if you putting on a few extra lbs!

I'm 15 weeks and already gained about 10lbs, so I can only assume where I'll be in 10 more weeks... lol it has nothing to do with eating 300 calories more or whatever, before I was pregnant, I ate once a day and when I became pregnant, I started eating like a "normal" person should eat, 3 meals with fruit inbetween, I hardly even have dessert, unless I'm craving it... I'm sure all the fluid we're consuming now doesn't help either. You'll be alright :) Good luck to you and congrats!!!

I've gained too much weight too according to my WIC chart but my doctors haven't said anythin' to me about It. I've gained 43 pounds and prolly still counting!!! It's not like "I'm eating for two" I've been eating completely normal with some "deserts" here and there. But my WIC counselor told me that's not all of us gaining that weight as In tummy wise, It also Is the placenta, uterus, baby, plus tummy weight.
