Trust me I no exactly what u mean. I get them from not taking them. I'm just worried to death about my baby. If withdrawals didn't hurt the baby I'd suffer thru it. Ask your doctor about a different Med. Tramadol is pure hell getting off of. Have you tried any rls tablets? They work for me.

Ok deep breath!

first....have you spoken to your OB? unless you have spoken to your OB, DO NOT STOP THESE PILLS OR TAPER THEM! Tramadol, especially, is a dangerous drug to stop cold turkey and if you are having "horrible withdrawals" being so early in pregnancy you COULD be at risk for a miscarriage because of the trauma that severe withdrawals can cause.

Ok...now..if your OB doesn't know, make an appointment immediately (tell them it's an emergency and you can't wait until the normal 8 week appointment) and confess it all. tell them you want off, but you want to do it safely. Tramadol should be stopped under doctor supervision even when not pregnant because withdrawal can cause seizures, and when pregnant it's even more vital to be under the care of a doctor. if you are obtaining the prescription illegally and afraid of getting into trouble, don't be. Your OB is trained to help you through this and his/her goal is to help you deliver a healthy, happy baby...not to run you through the wringer with Child Protective Services, OK??

So..if your doctor does not know about this, you must tell him/her immediately. If your doctor does know, ask for a tapering schedule and make sure and let him/her know if it goes too fast (i.e. the withdrawals become too severe)...you may need to slow down the taper. Yes, tramadol isn't the best drug to be on during pregnancy, BUT you must take it slowly and sometimes it can take weeks or months to quit completely, depending on your starting dose.

OK..again..you need to breathe deeply...you and baby will be OK..the important thing here is to get your OB on board with you and make a plan on how to handle this. don't stress..you're going to be just fine. you are NOT the only lady to come here with a story like this, and in my experience of several years here..they have ALL turned out great in the end...but only when your OB can watch and monitor you and bub.

I am sorry if i scared you about the info with tramadol but it's one of those ones that you do NOT want to mess around with because of the seizure risk, OK? be extra careful and speak to your doctor ASAP.
