i'm 25 years old, i'm pregnant 5 months now in my second baby, the dr. told me that the result of the ultrasound have a dot in the heart of my unborn baby, i kind of worried what does dot mean? the dr. mentioned down syndrome or abnormality, Does the dot in the heart of my baby can bring or cuase to down syndrome? and also they do two ultrasound  because my first ultrasound suppose to be 19 weeks but the measurment of the baby is behind two weeks of what i should be so that they reschedule another two weeks for ultrasound and then they said the baby was only behind 3 days in that time and theyre they the dot in the heart. is it my baby have something wrong why he/she behind of what i should be? hopefully i can hear your answer pretty soon coz i kind of very concern about the condition of my baby

Tess~ I posted on the other thread you made with this exact same title. :)

Pookie IS right. just because a baby has a Soft Marker for D/S doesn't mean they have it. because 1 marker is NOT conclusive at all. many babies show it and have no problems at all.

I dont know what a "dot in the heart" means.... you would have to ask for more information about what he saw....

Down Syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality and not caused by any heart defects...

Many babies with Down Syndrome also have other issues, including heart defects.  However just because a baby has a heart issue or defect or abnormality does NOT mean that the baby has Down Syndrome.

My daughter was born with a small VSD (hole in the heart) and is perfectly healthy.  90+% of that kind of defect close up on their own.....

So you just need to find out more about what he saw....and askmore questions if you dont get what he is saying.
