vaccinations

I really want to know what experienced moms think of not vaccinating.... My aunt and uncle are firm believers that the high mercury levels along with other serious ingredients had a lot to do with their twin sons autisim.. they have video of them acting normal and making normal sounds before their vaccinations were complete.. and now 17 years later they cant even speak. I dont want to get my baby vaccinated but im so scared.. idk whats best for my child :(

I personally chose not to get my first child vaccinated until 2. He was born in the middle of a bunch of my cousins children and I have watched all them constantly sick, some just can't sit down and focus on one thing. My son is now just over two and only had one cold and never been so sick that he has had to go to the ER. When he was 18 months he could sit down with toys and he happy for hours and be perfectly content. He does have a high energy level but that's a typical boy. I plan to keep the same choice for the baby I'm expecting.

Misstmay. Chicken pox can and has killed kids and adults. Not from infections in the airway but from the virus itself. I watched a 2 yr old girl die from them in the icu. Nothing would bring her fever down and she had a seizure went into a coma then passed away.....

I've had 10 children and absolutely hate vaccinations, BUT the thought of them catching one of the diseases is worse!! my now 4yr old caught whooping cough and coughed so hard that he turned purple and passed out, and that was after he had half of the vaccination, just seeing that broke my heart, when your child catches one of these diseases and you have to watch them go thru that, knowing that you could possibly have prevented it through a vaccination would eat me alive... I'm also wary of the link with autisim, I have a son who was "normal"then had his mmr vaccine 17yrs ago and was then diagnosed with Aspergers, at 4yrs I now delay tht vaccine until they're just over 2 for my own peice of mind, although their have now been studies showing a link between a common antibiotic given to young babies/toddlers for ear infections that could now be shown to be the culprit in the growing number of Autistic children, my son had many ear infections when he was in that age group so it does make me wonder ...

The scary thing about not vaccinating is although your child may havr developed a strong enough immune system to fight certain infections, they could pass it on to a child too young for the vaccination and too weak to fight it.  If you don't you may be putting others at risk which is not fair since they may havr made the choice to vaccinate if there children were old enough but someone else may suffer from your choice not to vaccinate.  Its all chances and your choice but I have vaccinated my kids and they are fine.

I did a delayed schedule with my daughter bc I was worried. In NJ the kids need it for school unless there is a religious reason that you have to prove. friend of mine told me that child services showed up at her house for not doing it but she was the only person I have ever heard that happen to. Bottom line is it's a personal choice and you have to just live whatever the consequences are from whatever decision you make. So do what works for you =)

My daughter is not vaccinated at all and won't be either. Neither will our son I have done my research and my hubby and I will stick to our choice. No one should judge you for doing it or not. By the way chicken pox will not kill not cleaning the open sores properly can cause an infection and children can die from that. Medical doctors get paid a percentage for every vaccine they give to your child. Check out dr. mercola if you would like more research. By the way the gardasil shot has been known to kill teens and young adults. Vaccines are blanket cover ups and not ask people can handle them and end up with severe reactions to them that can cause death as well.

My pediatrician recommends being picky with vaccines. She says like the hepatitis B shot they give your baby an hour after birth at the hospital isn't necessary unless the baby will be exposed to someone that has it in those first few days of life. She recommends getting the hepatitis B shot but not an hour after birth. It bombards their system. Instead try doing it a week to 2 weeks after birth when you are more aware of what's normal & what's not with your baby. That also goes with the school vaccines. Be choosy. Do your research & maybe make them spread them out some & do some but not others. Some are not necessary, others definitely are. Good luck!

This is a touchy subject. The studies in autism and vaccinations have been recalled and the Dr who did them fabricated his findings. Meningitis, chicken pox, measles, mumps and even the plague have resurfaced due to ppl kit vaccinating kids. The mmr, measles, mumps rubela ( rybela is chicken pox) can be given in seperate doses if your leery of all 3 at once. I'm an RN and ppl not vaccinating children is a shame. Chicken pox can kill!

Okay let me take that back, I believe it's just the "red 40 dye" that's believed to cause developmental issues, so if it's a different color dye it's not an issue, and like I said a LOT of prenatals have them, I believe even my sons flintstones vitamins have it in it.

It says like "Red 40 dye" or along those lines, a LOT of prenatals have them in it.. My OB switched me to a sample brand so I didn't have to pay for mine, and mine were pink too, and I red on the back that there was dye in them so I switched back to the prescribed brand. BUT I took that kind throughout my entire pregnancy with my son and he's completely fine.. it's pretty hard to find a prenatal without a dye in them

I agree with Combs7, the benefits definitely outweigh the risks, it's important to pick a pediatrician you trust, ask them anything and everything you want to know, and go with what you feel. I trust my ped. 100% and she would never tell a child not to get the recommended vaccinations. At this point there are so many things that MAY cause issues, like having a prenatal with a dye in it is said to cause autism.

I have friends who had a huge family and none of them do vaccinations. Its a religion thing with them. And the law here is no vaccines mo school however it was dismissed due to religion purposes. All of them are extremely healthy and have nevet had any serious illnesses. No one can force you to get your childrens shots if you choose not to. Its a personal choice. I have all my shots and my daughter (5) as well and we are both healthy and she is incredibly smart. I wish you good luck on ypur decisions. Trust your instinct. Talk with your doctor about pros and cons of vaccinations.

I have had all of my children vaccinated & they are 100% healthy. There is greater risk of things happening when you don't vaccinate. Look back to when they didn't require them & compare to now. You are not only risking your child by not vaccinating but others that come in comtact with them. Like polio, my grandmother had polio as a child & nearly died. She had to raise her 5 kids in a wheelchair because of the effects of the polio. There are risk with anything but the benifits far out weigh the risks. As for your cousins that was 17 years ago!! We still had mercury in lots of things we didn't know about then. Vaccines have come a long way since then too.
