wanting to get pregnant

my huband and I have been trying to conecieve a child and have rin into some complications on his end.  Our urologist has found a cyst in his scotum and has called it a varicolle vein issue.  Im guessing the next step would be to remove this cyst because is it causing his sperm count really low.  I am worried that this is going to cause us to never conceive a child.  I was wondering if anybody has been threw this and should it be easier to concieve a child once this cyst is removed.  Im am very worried and sad at the same time....

My husband had the varicocele surgery back when he was in high school.  But we still had problems trying to conceive.  It took us seven years.  His motility and counts were both low.  Finally, we heard about IVF with the option of ICSI - which all but eliminates the male factor of infertility. They actually inject each egg with a sperm.  It's pretty amazing and miraculous, actually!  We were able to get pregnant by doing that.  You most likely won't have to go that far, but I just wanted to share with you that there definitely IS hope and if you guys went that route, you would be able to conceive almost for sure.

My husband's brother, on the other hand, also had the varicocele surgery (after he was married and they had tried for a year to get pregnant) and they were able to conceive with a few months after the surgery.

So yes, go ahead and give the surgery a try and then see and go from there.

But again - there IS hope!!

Good luck to you and chin up!!

well, i would love to help u but dont know much about varicocele surgery. you could ask your dr. however about low counts, well, my hubby hav the same prob. so we decided to take "fertility blend for men" from GNC stores ($40) n see if its works or not. however, my hubby isnt much aware abt this in his bz life so he took pills every other day or so. n we had to get 2-3 bottles before next SA test. but he finished(hardly) one bottle. n we took test after 2-3 months. n it raised 9% from the previous test result. but if you would hv taken regularyly n everyday acc to direction on label. you would get more grt results. anyway, what im saying is this med helped my hubby to raise his counts.
also, cut out smoking, drinking, n reduced cafffine, wear loose clothes(underwer) would aslo helps.

My husband had the same problem. But having the varicocele repair will actually increase your chances of pregnancy. My husband and I concieved only 3 weeks after he had his surgery. But we also had an IUI done. I think I've told you my story before! Having the surgery to repair the vein should help you become pregnant not hurt your chances. The doctor's told us it was a very common procedure. It didn't take very long at all, my husband was only in the OR for about 45 minutes the rest of the time in the hospital was for recovery and to wake up from the anesthesia. All in all it was no big deal really, and we acctually got prenant!!! I left a few websites for you to check out about varicocele and varicocele repair.
