weird lump by babies ribs someone help please

Hi girls as u know i just had my baby last week and i noticed when he cries that he has this little lump that pops out by the side of his ribs...he has a dr appt tomorrow but its making me very nervous. has anyone seen anything like this on there new born? someone told me it may be a muscle that is still developing. Any info would be appreciated.

My friends little biy breaks out bad when he cries. I would not worry too much unless it seems to bother him. Also I would mention it to the ped and see what there professional oppinion is! Good Luck

It could be a hernia, IDK:( But I do know that kids/babies can get them and it doesnt have to be in the belly button area to be a hernia. Have it checked out either way.........I hope it nothing...............Keep us posted!!

I have a six month old and when she cries she gets a big lump in her forehead. I heard it was a muscle thing too, but it may not ever go away.
