wetness

I am wondering if it is normal to have increased wetness toward the end of your pregnancy. I am 31 and 1/2 weeks and have noticed over the past couple of days that I am more wet than before. I am a bit worried it is amniotic fluid and not just urine. Is there anyway to tell the difference?

ONCE YOU ARE THAT FAR IN PREGNANCY YOUR BLADDER HAS SO MUCH PRESSURE ON IT THAT THE SLIGHTEST MOVE CAN MAKE URINE COME OUT. WHEN YOU GO TO THE BATHROOM TO PEE LEAN FORWARD IT HELPS TO EMPTY THE BLADDER MORE AND RESULTS IN THIS HAPPENING LESS. ALSO AMNIOTIC FLUID WILL BE CLOUDY LIKE COLORED IF ANY OTHER COLOR, GREEN, BROWN ETC ITS INFECTION. SO IF YOU HAVE A WAY OF CATCHING THE DISCHARGE AND IT IS CLOUDY LOOKING WATER THAN IT MAY BE AMNIOTIC FLUID. BUT MORE THAN LIKELY ITS INCREASED DISCHARGE OR URINE. IF U WANT TO BE SURE YOU CAN HAVE UR DOC DO A TEST TO SEE IF ITS THE AMNIOTIC FLUID. GOOD LUCK

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and have noticed an increase too.  I always seem more wet than before and it makes me nervous.  I keep thinking that it could be amniotic fluid and not know it.  I have an appointment in 2 weeks so I'll ask then.  You're not alone, trust me.

It may be just discharge. However when my waters broke with my daughter I had a slow but pretty steady leak. They said it was because my sac broke from the top and she had already dropped. But I would let the doc know and see what they think. They can do a simple test with a strip of test paper to tell you what it is so best of luck to you and try to relax and stay of your feet

It may not be amniotic fluid OR urine.  It may be increased cervical mucus which can be normal.  The only way to know for sure is to mention it to the doctor and ask if they can swab around your cervix and test it to see if it's amniotic fluid.
