The store I work in sells hotslings, they seem to work very well for newborns and come with a great instructional DVD. The Becko is a great option if you want something that can go from front carrying to back carrying later on, but as with the ERGO is quite pricy. The most important thing is getting the right amount of support across your back to make baby wearing comfortable. U tube has some great videos on baby carriers and slings. Why not watch a few, they might give you some ideas to find exactly what you are looking for in your sling/carrier.
Thanks! I have heard good things about the moby wraps, and hotslings? I will have to look at a couple in the store and see what I think!
I made a ring sling for my baby. I researched and found that this one would be the best for me. It really is a trial and error type thing. Every persons body is different and different carriers fit everyone differently. It's all about comfort! Good luck on finding one that works for you.
I used the Moby and LOVED it until my daughter was around 8-9 months. I was able to lift my son in and out of the grocery cart, carry things, etc. All with her tucked inside. I was also able to nurse (this takes lots of practice) with her in it while at the zoo with my son. You can get these used for about 30 bucks, I also just saw that Target is now carring them.
Then I switched to the Ergo, I love that too for when they are older, I couldn't imagine putting a tiny baby in it even with the infant insert.
I say go for the Moby!
I tried SEVERAL different carriers, and they all hurt my back (baby bjorn, infantino, Jeep all in one) and the ONLY carrier that I ended up liking was the Ergo. Good luck. The Ergo's are EXPENSIVE though.. Over $100.- I don't own one because the THREE I bought and could not use set us back around $200.- and my BF said NO MORE carriers!! I borrowed an Ergo from a friend .. =)
i bought and tried so many, but was not happy with any of them. I felt like they swallowed up the baby. Maybe I wasn't using them correctly. I definitely couldn't figure out how to use those moby and similar wraps, although those who do figure it out seem to like them. I ended up getting a mei tai carrier recommended by my LC.
i purchased an "infantino"sling rider from Target for twenty bucks. its like a hammock and has a place where u can velcro the baby in if you need too it has an adjustable strap and a pouch to keep a binky in or cell phone. You where it diagnolly so the baby will be to the side or front. My son loved it because its kind of like bundling your baby. It made things easier on me. I will say this. The only thing i dont like about it is when its 80 the baby will sweat but if you live in a cooler climate then it would be perfect. :) I love it
My friend has 3 girls including a 2 yr old she got one of them moby things i dont know much about it it looks kinda neat though she post pics of the baby in it it seems pretty hands free and the baby is very secure in it! Shes always looking for deals with 3 kids shes gotta I can ask her where she bought it I work for Target so I know we are selling them but I forgot the price!
