it made sense (at least to me, anyway, lol). As a female your bodyweight fluxuates DAILY anywhere between 5 and 10 lbs. So LosingMyMind is definitely right when she says weigh yourself at the same time each day and only to monitor your weight gain. For twins, I think you're doing fine. I popped on 11 lbs total so far (I'm 23 1/2 weeks) and that was all from March to the end of April (about a 7 week time frame). It doesn't mean your body is going to continue that kind of weight progression. Each week will be different and your belly will take what it needs, be it a few extra pounds one week and nothing the next. You also really can't be a nazi about it when you're carrying more than one, just be sensible with your diet and exercise and whatever you gain, your body was needing it for a reason (two in this case).

don't go by home scales...they are usually WAY off from docs scales.  I use a home scale but i don't by that particular weight...I just use it to judge what I've gained.  When I first found I was pregnant at about 5 wks I was 172 I went down to 168 and now i'm back to 176-177.  So total I've gained APPROXIMATELY 4-5 lbs all together. As I said though I only use that to estimate...according to my docs scales last time I was there I was 176 but docs scales say I weigh several lbs more than my home.

Another thing to keep in mind is what you are wearing, the type and amount of clothing, shoes etc.  and the time of day you weigh.  When I weigh at home I only weight in my underwear at night before bed and first thing in the morning.   But as far as comparing...I'll compare my night time weight with the LAST night time weight and the morning with the time I weighed in the morning.  That way it's more accurate.

does that make sense or am i just ramblin again?

I just googled "weight gain while carrying twins" and this came up.  I didn't read it, but I thought it might help :)

I gained 4lbs between appts once and then lost it by the next appt. At 35w2d, I've only gained an actual 6lbs.

With my son I gained 17 pounds in the 7th month!!! I only gained a total of 29 pounds with him so I was making up for lost time, like I'm sure you are.  I'm just about 24 weeks and have my appointment on Thursday so we will get the official number, but I think I have gained 5-8 pounds total, so I know I am going to start gain more than I should per week, but I am making up for being so sick at the beginning.

Chitten - I would contact your doctor just to be sure. After 20 weeks if I was losing weight instead of gaining weight with my son and this one, they wanted to see me.

I think it's ok long as you don't lose a lot.....I think it just means your baby is growing really fast and taking all it can from you...I was losing for a bit but now I'm making up for it

With my first pregnancy I gained a total of 75 lbs.... that was an oucher. I still have some of that weight on. I gained most of it in the last months. With my daughter I actually didn't gain a lb and lost about 25. Which was fine for me. Its all depends on what the doctor tells you, the first one told me to eat eat eat because my son was going to be little, well I did and gained about 35-45 lbs in the last three months. I wish I would have listened to my mother and other family members... its still hard to loose it.  The second doctor told me it was ok to lose weight with pregnancy, I had to take B12 shots everyday for the first 3 months. So Don't worry about the 8 lbs, it will help the baby! GL
