They should not hurt. Its just super tight around your belly. If they become consistent drink water and do the opposite if what you were doing, eg you were relaxing, get up and walk vice versa.
I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow, I saw my midwife wednesday and was telling her about a feeling I had been having and she said it was braxton hicks contractions. Basically, my stomach gets really hard, and I get a tightening sensation all over (like I've been doing crunches and my abdominal muscles tighten up) she told me when they start to drink water, and relax on the couch. If you get more than 8 an hour, go to the er/hospital bc they can be a sign of preterm labor.
@tgmama can u guide me till how much time these pains remain? I m resting since 2 days but still having lil cobtractions. Dr gave a medicine so taking that as well. But still contractions are on off.I m having these pains since 12th feb. Went to my dr on 13 th. Dr said its braxton hicks bec i walked in malls last week a lot.
Just wanted to know when will i be able to step outside again. Not much but atleast i can go for shopping and all for 2-4 hrs?
No problems, you just might be a little uncomfortable. They are just practice for the real thing. I mostly get them when I do to much. Resting helps them go away. If you do hurt, you can try time them and always call your doctor. Never hurts to go get monitored.
Oh is it.
I started feeling such kind of pain since today and i walked too much yesterday in a mall. Will try to rest. But do these contractions create any prob or labour?
For me, the only way I know I'm having them is because my stomach gets rock hard. They don't hurt me but can be uncomfortable. I mostly get them when I walk too much or push myself physically. I started getting them around 27 weeks.
they are like contraction but the difference is that contractions can b timed like every three minutes for a hour but braxtons Hicks feel the same but dnt last......that's the best way i can explain it.
I haven't experienced any myself, but from what I understand they are like false contractions. They feel real but they aren't the start of labor. Usually hydrating and relaxing makes them go away. They aren't regular like real contractions are either. That's really all I know though :)
To me it feels like I'm getting a little campy n my belly gets kind of hard for a few seconds then they go away.
