when did you take baby out?

I will be having my baby soon, I am 38wks tomorrow and I was wondering when did you take your baby out for more than just a short shoppin trip or something?

Me and my fiance are planning an outing for the first wednesday in august, we plan on going out to eat and maybe doin a little shopping at the mall and we want to take our lil man with us, he will be a few weeks old by then.
I am mostly worried about the heat because august is normally our hottest month and we have already had the temp in the 100's for about a week now.

What do you think?

I got major cabin fever with my first. We went to the zoo a week after he was born,I of course was very sore from having a second degree episiotomy, but it was fine for us. We are having our second in a few weeks and I am not planning anything but going to wait and see how I feel. Thats what I recommend, you know whats good for you and the family.

I had to wait two months after delivery.I had stitches..a tear and a graze..I was swollen.and sore..also you bleed for a good six weeks after delivery. I cleaned my house vigorously a week after child birth and it made me have awful stomacxh pains and bleed more.. and the midwife told me off and that I should be resting..you will also feel different emotionally and sleep deprived so you need to keep rested . It's up to you and everyone is different. but I wouldn't plan it yet. See how you feel at tge time :)xx

It just depends on you really. Everyone will have their own opinion on the matter. Some will say they took their newborn out at a few days old, while others will say they waited a few weeks. I had c sections with both my boys and I waited a few weeks because I could barely move. I also had my youngest son in Dec, which is the start of rsv season. I waited to take him out longer, and I didn't take him out as often for that reason!
