Have you spoken with your doctor about possibly having a short luteal phase? The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and your next period. You must have 10 days or more in order to conceive. If it is any less there is not enough time for a fertilized embryo to implant into the uterine lining before your body begins to menstruate.

I hope that makes sense. There are ways to lengthen your luteal phase. It'd be a great idea to speak to your doctor about this.

It should be the same whether you had a shorter cycle or not...even if you ovulated at day 14 and had a short luteal phase of only 6-7 days, with the four days you are late, that would bring you to testing on cd 25 which you would probably have gotten a positive if you were.  My guess is that your cycle will be longer like a 28-30 day cycle.
Do you know when you ovulated?  That would be the only thing that would be really helpful to know...then you could decide how long your luteal phase is (time between ov and period)...if it is too short or too long, it is called a luteal phase defect and it can make getting pregnant more difficult.  Perhaps you could talk to your doctor about it...
I got my bfp at 10 days past ovulation which would have been 5 days before my period...
