white spots on fingernails

Okay...i just looked down and I have these white spots on my fingernails.  About 5 of m nails have them.  They are near the ends....if i cut them down to the skin they would no longer be there.  I did not have these 3 days ago...i know b/c i broke a nail and looked at all of them.  Does anyone else have this?  Is it something that happend with pregnancy?

i have no clue...  that's just what my grandmother used to tell me.  she said it was because i needed more calcium.  who knows...

thanks!  Thats what I read that it would be from a defiency...but I take a prenatal vitamin daily.  I didnt think you could get a defiency if you were taking vitamins...but maybe so.

i've been told it was from some sort of mineral defiency or trauma done to the nail bed.  never heard of it as a pg symptom, but i could be wrong.  make sure you let us know what you find out tomorrow morning!  i am sending your lots of bfp waves!
