whooping cough shot?

What is it for exactly? A friend of mine brought it up and I don't go back to my doctor till the 20th. Am I the only one who gets it or does the whole house hold. Every but my dad is on bored with getting this and the flu shot which they already got.

As of right now I plan on homeschooling my child but still plan on getting it. And whatever she needs.

yes my doc gave me a prescription to get the shot I'm assuminging because they can't give it to the baby . if you plan on sending your child to a child care facility I suggest it because there are so many things that they are exposed to.

Im going to bring it up to my doctor the 20th and my husband is going to see about it tomorrow. I don't think I can get my mom or dad to get it

My dr did not bring up the shot , but during my breastfeeding class the lady brought it up . It's good to get it quite pregnant so you can build antibodies that will go to the baby so it's less likely for the baby to get it.  Once they are born she said the soonest they usually give the baby the shot (if u or child haven't had one ) would be two months. The recommend it because one it can't hurt just to get it to prevent it and two because it can be fatal to infants.  Your entire family doesn't need one but the do recommend people that will be around the baby daily to get one (you; babydad; grandparents; basically whoever you live with) just to be on the safe side.  I'm going to get one.

Whooping cough..... is when baby gets fits of coughing. It stops oxygen going to the brain as it stops them inhaling. It can lead to brain damage and it also leads to death. WHOOP is the noise that baby makes when trying to inhale like a seal or its a horrible noise.
I was vaccinated after a had my second as there was a breakout in my city because ppl stop beleiving in vaccinations

I never get the flu shot tho because theres so many different types of flus going around. A flu shot only prevents one not all and the flu shot can make you sick. Ive gotten the flu a day after the shot every time. So im kinda nervous about getting whopping cough vaccine because they never work for me and I dont want risk it.

Its a vaccine to stop whopping cough, like chicken pox shot. Its a huge issue right now because all the kids that crossed over the border had it and its spreading fast. The scary part is almost all adults dont show any symptoms. All it takes is one kiss from you or a sneeze from someone in the room and the baby has a huge chance of getting it. It kills and theres not a lot they can do for your baby if they do get it.

Its a shot to prevent whooping cough lol.  Whooping cough is a horrible cough that can have serious breathing problems and lasts a long time.  The more people vaccinated for it the better even if it's not everybody

Lol that's what Im trying to figure out. I never heard of it till now. As far as the flu shot goes I only got it because the nurse was pushing me to have it.

Sorry if this is a dumb question -.- but What is a whooping cough shot? I know for  both of my sisters' pregnancy she nor anyone in our family got this shot or the flu shot and babies are fine but now that I'm pregnant I hear about this shot and have no idea wat its even about lol

I won't be able to get everyone to get it because they are hard headed. My doctor didn't even bring up the flu shot. I got it when I went to L&D to check on my baby

It's best that everybody in your house or that comes in contact with baby gets it.  whooping cough is dangerous to babies.
