will discontinuing the pill mid cycle bring on a period?

hi all,
i have been feeling a bit un well for the last week, and its possible i may be pregnant. Just incase i am, i have stopped taking my contraceptive pill. Should my period be brought on by this if i am not pregnant? Its too early to take an accurate pregnancy test.

what smjmekg said is right. While on the pill you have a "withdrawl bleed" not a period. When you stop the pills mid cycle, that is the signal to the body to have this bleed. If you remain off of the pills then the next bleed will indeed be AF. I wouldn't rely on a HPT right now. I would wait until AF doesn't arrive in about 28 days.

I stopped mid cycle and had a withdrawal bleed a few days later. It's not a period. I got my regular period about four weeks later. When you stop mid cycle your body thinks you are on the inactive pill, which will cause the withdrawal bleed. If you start to feel pregnancy symptoms and don't get a period within a month or two I'd get a test. It may take a while for your body to regulate and for you to get a period again, I've read some women saying it took six weeks, some longer...good luck!
