women who have had a kidney infections

I am wondering if anyone ladies have had a kidney infection while pregnant... How did they treat is and was your experience like?

I was in the hospital for about a week due to a bad kidney infection...I also thought the pains were back pains since its my first time being pregnant...then I knew something had to be wrong because I would wake up crying due to the pain....my doctor still has me on antibiotics till this day (macrobid)...I take one a day n have to remain on them until I have my son in March :/ it kinda worries me because I don't know if that will effect me from wanting to breastfeed :/

My uti turned into a kidney infection when I was 11wks+3. I assumed it was just back pain since I never had one before but finally went to the er bc I couldnt breathe or walk, my whole back and leg were in too much pain. At the er  I learned there was a point where a kidney infection would turn into a blood infection and could actually kill the fetus. I was RIGHT at that point so I had a few a/b's to take and rested for two days. Alls wel now and me and my baby are at a healthy 26+3wks now. Good luck and DONT WAIT!!

I had a uti and kidney infection when i was pregnant with my daughter ended up in the er from the pain of kidney infection they gave me a scrip for antibiotics and a low grade vic and told me to drink lots of cranberry juice and water

Lots of water and cranberry juice. I'm supposed to call this morning to see if they can get me in. They are treating me for bladder infection but I think it might be in my kidneys now...

What have you been drinking? You should probably go back to your doc, my doc gave me2 days if the tablets didnt work to go back

I saw the Dr Friday, started me on antibiotics but I'm not feeling any better...

Hi I hat a uti for about 3 days before I went to the doctor. I had no burning when I used the toilet just felt like I needed to go straight after going. Im alergic to penicillin so doc perscribed antibiotics with out penicillian and I drank cranberry juice felt better almost straight away from taking the first antibiotic. Would defo recommend seeung doc :)
