work problems

I work in kennel at a vet office, ive heard cat litter is dangerous should i let work know im pregnant and start looking for a new job?

The litter is dangerous,  you should not be touching it at all. There is a risk for contracting a parasite callef toxoplasmosis. Its more risky to catch from outdoor cats as they can eat birds or small animals who are infected. Stay away from litter, undercooked meats, and do not garden because the parasite is also found in soil. The cdc recommends if you have to be near cat litter or soil to wear a face mask and gloves.

and the poo is only dangerous if its a outside cat cuz they eat the grass and other stuff

its fine to mess with cat litter just make sure u wear a mask and gloves

I believe it's cat poo that's dangerous since it can cause defects in the baby when the smell in inhaled. I have a kitten but make sure my husband cleans it out as soon as kitty goes potty. Unless there's a way for you to avoid inhaling all of that it would be best to look for a job elsewhere.

I just found out im a month i believe, there concerned about miscarrying though so im just trying to be cautious as possible. Just trying to decide if i should let my boss know yet.
