Am I the only one who doesn't understand why doctor keep prescribing zofran and its on commercial saying it may cause birth defects in your baby. Sorry but I don't wanna stop throwing up that bad.

All drugs have a risk a big one being anti depressants can make you sucidle. Know a guy who shot himself because of that its a risk you take because every medicine has risks that come with it

Completely understand was never prescribed zofran was prescribed promethazine but never took it just dealt with sickness but mines was never really bad I could still eat a little but the thing I don't get is why people keep saying the fda approved zofran for pregnancy they have never done so it was approved for cancer patients receiving chemo it is a class b drug and is fda approved but they also warn against the  use by pregnant women as they don't know the affects

I'm sorry if anyone was offended by my post, I was just stating my opinion on the drug. &nd seeing it on a commercial saying it causes birth defects could never sit right with me and I'm taking it (plus they show the commercial so much it stays on my mind). I understand there are risk for ANYTHING you do while pregnant but I'd rather not up the Annie. Once again tho I'm sorry if I offended anyone I just wanted to know if anyone had the same concern as me since its all doctor try to throw at you.!

I have been on zofran my entire pregnancy. My baby is perfectly fine.

To each their own.  Take it or don't take it.  It's your choice. There are risks to everything you do during pregnancy.  Birth defects happen even without taking any meds.  Stillborn babies happen when the mom did everything by the book and DIDN'T take Zofran.  Rather than use a commercial or somebody posting something in an app to decide whether to take it, use your own judgement.

Naturally is always best rather than more drugs. Everyone has been duped into the thinking that drugs should be out first point of call, more than not they cause more harm than good. And I wouldn't trust Big Pharma with my life, let alone my child's. They have lied about so many things that I do all I can to stay away from them and the FDA and CDC. They are all just big medical pharmaceutical companies looking for profit. Just follow the money and you will have your answer on whether they tell the truth or not.

They could prescribe phenergan, but it's a narcotic and probably don't think you should take it, it made my nausea go away. But anything with side effects like that lawyers just try to get candidates to make them money

I took zofran my whole pregnancy and my baby is fine. It's safe according to the fda...and also benadryl is safe but if u read about it, it also says that it could possibly but rarely cause cleft lip. This is real life everything's a risk. If I didn't take zofran id be in really bad shape it was my last resort the only thing that saved me.

you do relize that they gave me this crap and my baby was born a month early  emergency c-section with a super fast irregular arrhythmia and came very close to leaving us that day! THANK GOD she made it!! Also has multiple birth defects including also heart defects she suffers daily from!  you do relize i did not have the resources i have today and was told the only bad thing could happen is i get a headache.  You do relize in 2012 the same pharmaceutical company for the same drug was fined 3 billion for giving it under the counter For other things that were NOT fda approved! But that was ok because that pharmaceutical company made 12 billion on that drug that year so just a small price to pay for big business!  You do relize they used me and everyone one else as ginnie pigs why they sat back and collected! It is very logical why this drug is causing problems, for some reason the whole pill goes right to the placenta, and in the first mounth the babies organs are developing so the side effects would go to the person getting it (the baby from the placenta). Makes sende now to me ! You do relize my poornbaby suffers and it was very rude to say you do relize like they where asking safety of tictacs or something!  Pregnant women please be very very careful with anything they give you! Doctors now a days dont even know what it is. big pharma xgives it to them and they are just told what to give it for and of course there gokng to say its perfectly safe . big pharma is in it for the money its a business. and all businesses like to make money!  Sorry but i am very mad they did this to my baby! Even more mad that when i had her they treated me like i was on drugs and even treated to take my baby if my placenta came back positive for drugs and of course it didn't because i would never!! But did i ever get an apology for the added stress or how they treated me like i was garbage because they were sooo sure i was on drugs NO!! When it was something they gave that me sad sad world! !!! Research is inconclusive on zofran. No proof that it does or does not hurt a baby. It was created as a way to help chemo therapy patients to treat nausea.  That's not good enough for me.after doing research although no medical study has found an increase rate of birth defects does not mean there aren't any. Heroin and cocain were medicine with "no chance of side effects" too

It's a personal choice but to say a medicine put in your body will have no affect whatsoever is incorrect

You do realize that the commercials are not backed up medically? Zofran is a class b drug classified by the FDA. Do your research and not believe everything a fake lawyer puts on a commercial. They do commercials like that for every medication. There's always a risk associated with any drug. A doctor wouldn't prescribe it if the risks outweighed the benefits. Like I said, do your research
