17 weeks, need to quit smoking

17 weeks along and doctor told me to quit smoking. He never gave me any tips or something that will safely work. So I was curious if any of you ladies quit smoking while pregnant and if so how did you quit? Any advice will be helpful. Thank you!

On baby #5 and I never quit. All my kids are fine, never any complications or health issues.  Was on Chantix when I found out I was pregnant this time. But I'm a pack a day smoker for 15yrs, it's not easy to quit without nrt.

It's hard. I have about 3 a day and that's a struggle. Cut back to a lighter brand. Done the same with my other two children and they turned out healthy although not promoting smoking at all. Best to give up all together if can. Thanks ladies for sharing. It's not something I feel good about but it helps to know I am not alone.

I'm doing the one less a day, 1 day here or there I slip and smoke an extra, I smoke no more then 4 smokes a day. It's more difficult right now due to my living situation. A person we live with smokes in the house and smokes more then a pack a day (was 3pks a day) He cut back. But the smell gives me a headache and unless I take medication smoking a cigg makes it go away (crappy, I know, but I'm not one to take medications. Just taking it 1 day at a time.

It's hard I know since I was a smoker before I got pregnant!!! Once I found out I was pregnant I cut back a whole lot at first , I would only smoke one to knock off the urge and I made myself feel sick everytime... Until I then I said no more my baby health is important and it's all in the mind!! So u can too stop just think about you baby and your health!! I also did a lot of fast praying!!!
Good luck!!!
