36 week appointment kicked my a$$! :)

Well I had my now weekly.appointment yesterday for my 36th week, and I was told I tested positive for the Group Strep B test they gave me the prior week and I have a yeast infection I didn't know about. :( what an appointment, right? Ugh. I was feeling so horrible about the Group Strep B, and felt as if it was something I should have prevented however the doctor encouraged me that it's literally like a coin toss and pure chance whether women have it or not. And I had been having contractions each day and they were getting worse so they checked me for any possible infection, come to find I have a yeast infection. I had no symptoms and had no idea but am thankful for routine OB testing. They think the contractions will stop now with this being treated. The one positive thing is I didn't gain any weight this week (and those who know my story know this is a major concern for me).
And I'm not dilated, thank God! I need lil Mama to stay in there until D-Day! She's on a schedule lol.
How are you Mamas doing?? :)

I'm 36 weeks. They tested me Monday. I hope it's negative but I haven't read about it to actually know what gbs is. And I'm dilated 1cm. But I do want my little girl to stay in until her due date. I have all my time off planned around her date Lol. Since they did that swab I had a bit of my mucus plug come out, so weird but amazing. We think she might come early I feel her pushing her way down lol. We will see. Congrats to all of you ladies.

I'm 36 weeks also and just had the test yesterday. I'm really hoping it's negative but if it isn't we'll just deal with it. I'm just so ready for this all to be over and have my baby and my body back! Lol. And I'm not dialated one bit either..which is somewhat discouraging. But hang in there, it's almost over for us!

Yes he was born healthy no complications...I was freaked out too.. my water was leaking do I rushed to hospital and once they figured my water was leaking they started me on antibiotics, and iv fluids. He's now 2 1/2... I know I'm excited for this one to come but still not ready... haven't even decided a name yet. But I wouldn't worry..it'll be fine you just get a burning sensation where ever they have your iv and then it'll go away after awhile. Keep your head up, no stress or worries.

Ugh I'm bummed that even though she moved the party for her son your Grandma still can't make it. :( damn! You did everything you could and I'm glad it at least sounds like there was some peace made by her moving the party to the day before. Sorry it still didn't turn out exactly the way you wanted but you're gunna have such a perfect day and you'll remember it forever! :)

Bambinomiracle~ I called my grandma and she told me she really wanted to do both (my cousins son's birthday and my baby shower and my cousin is having it a day before now!) so I was super excited. All of my family lives about 2 hrs away and my sister was going to take my grandma with her on Saturday and bring her to the city where I live and my shower is Sunday but I guess my grandma doesn't wanna leave on Saturday at all.. My cousin wants to have family pictures and wants my grandma to babysit Saturday night.  Soo sadly She probably won't make it since she doesn't have a ride out here.. Oh well I tried.  :(

Awww thanks ladies, sure lifted me up. I know the Group Strep and the yeast infection are just normal things that happen but I've been somehow beating myself up about both of them. :(
Schmalzy - so did you get things sorted out with your Grandma? Is she gunna make it to your shower? So excited for you!
Jenny and Venlecky? Were your babies healthy even though you tested positive? My doctor really tried to comfort me about it cuz she could tell I felt horrible. She said just had to have IV antibiotics once I go into labor which is more than OK with me, just want my baby girl to be healthy and happy. And Venlecky it sounds like your little one is getting ready to make their appearance! Ahhh!

Same here...had my appt yesterday too at 36 weeks+2 days.... I thought I had a year infection but my lil man is trying to escape already with dialating at 2cm with soft cervix...I had gbs with my first I just got the antibiotics when I found out my water broke..my second was negative and now I'm waiting to results in this one... it's not a bad thing just stuff happens. As long as you get the antibiotics before you deliver through out your labor both you and baby will be fine...

Awe that ***** hun.  Atleast both of them are treatable.  I'm Pretty sure for the strep b they just give you antibiotics during labor.. I'm not 100% sure but I think that's what they do. Glad Your little peanut is staying in there.. Your Almost there!

I am 31 weeks tomorrow.  It's crazy how fast time flies!  I have my baby shower this Sunday which I am very excited about!  :)

Thank you! The doctor said a lot of women test positive for the Strep B and I'm just hoping it doesn't cause complications to her birth. Hope your pregnancy is going well!
