Accidentally Ate Blue Cheese!

Last week, I ate some cheese pizza that I thought had only mozzarella cheese on it.  It turns out there was some blue cheese (or something similar) underneath the layer of mozzarella.  I had only two bites, and the blue cheese was warmed up on the pizza.  I am not sure if it was pasteurized... I am assuming so, but it was not at a restaurant, it was at another place where they cater to large groups of people (like a banquet hall type of place).

I am so careful with what I eat, I never eat lunchmeat or soft cheeses... please help calm my fears.  I am very worried about listeria.  Today (10 days later), I am feeling a little achey (is it just normal pregnancy aches?) and tired.  Not sure what to think.  The nurse said not to worry when I called in last week.  But, then today, I am feeling kinda weird.  Please help!!

Thank you!

You'll be fine and so will the baby. Don't stress about it. Majority of the things to avoid is to do with your reduced immune system and you getting sick. Think of it like food poisoning and how quick you would react to that. Take a deep breath, put your feet up and enjoy your pregnancy :-) x

I ate a ton of blue cheese and brie with this pregnancy and my others and my girls and I are just fine. I stay away from the obvious stuff, raw eggs (though I've tasted batter and cookie dough :), sushi, certain fish, most raw meat, but I always  ate my steaks medium and still did when I was pregnant. I still drink coffee, but its half caffeinated. Idk some women might think its "crazy" but you got to take all that stuff with a grain of salt. Some people go overboard, some under....I think common sense and moderation goes along way, but that's me and I'm on my third child. I was probably more strict with my first.

I talked to my doctor about the soft cheese thing and she said it was bull... She ate soft cheese through both of her pregnancies and she had 2 healthy babies. She also said not to believe everything that you read because 50% of it is just extreme nonsense.

Most blue cheese they sell in the stores is pastuerized. I had a craving for blue cheese on my salad and looked and they were all pasreurized.

Don't stress you will be fine. I accidentally ate some the other week and my little man is still kicking up a storm in there.

You are just fine. People eat stuff they say not to all the time and they are ok. You must be a first time mom. I watch what i do while preg but its nothing like my firat preg. I realized that my baby will be fine and i dont freak out over everything. I believed everyones bs with my first and freaked out over any pain or bleeding or whatever. This preg im complete opposite and its great. My baby girl will be here any day now

Yeah, it could be your stress causing what you're feeling now. Plus pregnancy will cause alot of body and mental changes and you can't blame everything in those couple bites of blue cheese.
I eat what I'm not supposed to eat sometimes and my baby is fine.
