Are birthmarks genetic?

My hubby has a large port wine stain on his chest.  Just curious if that means baby has a higher risk of having one too.  Anyone have a birthmark like this and did baby have it too or not?

My husband has and hemangiona in the back of his neck, wich he only diacovered 26 years later...my son was born with a flat hemangiona that covers his left cheek down to his chest, under the chin, part of his shoulder and back of his neck...he will be getting laser treatment to remove it. They say if i leave it there it will become black...my son is 21 months old now the treatment is very painful but they numb the area, he is gorgeous even with the stain, if you have babies with hemangiomas or portwines in the face anywhere is really important to get checked to see if its not growing inside!!! My partner and our daughter has an identical birth mark on their hips so weird! Same spot, same hip!

I'm not to sure but my sister and I have the same exact birth mark on the side of our face .. My mom doesn't have it .. And we even have different fathers ..

I have a birth mark on side of my stomach and so does my first son, my second son has one in back of his leg like his dad. Literally every birth mark I have so does my first son and my husbands birth marks my second son has. Kinda crazy!!

My kids dad had one idk what kind or what it was called. It looked red and pinkish kinda like mostly faded hickeys on his chest to the left near his arm. Neither of my boys have anything similar.

My husband has a birthmark it is called a mongolian birthmark and it looks like a bruise on the butt and back it fades as you get older though. All 3 of my children have birthmarks. My oldest daughter has the mongolian birthmark and my youngest daughter has what they call raspberries a d my son has a mongolian birthmark as well. My oldests is starting to fade and same with my youngest daughter. She still has one on the back of her head but you cant really see it cause her hair is covering it.
