BIGGEST WORRY

I feel awkward asking this....But when you're pushing to have the baby do u poop? I only ask because this is my BIGGEST fear,(only now my 4th time around). I haven't went to the bathroom like normal for the last few months and now that it's getting closer to my due date I feel like i have to REALLY go but I can't which in turn means when I have the baby I am... and I'm gonna be completely embarrassed by it.....

Its normal and the doctors and nurses are very used to it & clean in up quickly. of course Ill be embarrassed if I do, but not really stressing it either way.

PLEASE DON'T TAKE CASTOR OIL :( if your constipated ask ur doc about COLACE or something you can use thats safer/milder.

I don't intend on taking anything on my own out of fear of hurting my baby.  I Just wanted to know if it was normal or not so I could attempt to calm my nerves in advance lol.. This last 1 is making sure to be the most memorable I promise

It can be dangerous to take caster oil. It can cause your baby to have the first BM in the womb & possibly swallow it-which can cause serious complications.

That's all I lay awake thinking about now...my boyfriend said I didn't with my 3rd he doesn't recall about the first 2 smh I have a dr appointment in the morning so I'm gonna ask the dr is it normal. They never offered an enema before my other labors and I'm thinking I'll be the talk of the hospital if I don't get this together before go time lol

I had our son last month and I, too, was so worried about that! The nurse kept telling me to push and I remember thinking: I'm trying to push my son out, her fingers, hoping not to pass gas, and definitely didn't want to poop!! Maybe that's why it took me over 2 hours to push him out?! :) But, I asked my husband if I did and he said no. Good thing I didn't because I was already gassy from the pitocin earlier that day. That would have been too much in one day for my husband to experience from me! :)

Also going on a brisk walk when you start contractions is helpful to loosen things up down there

I think this is everyone's biggest fear. Some women make a bowel movement and its totally OK I promise its normal.

My midwife recommended castor oil before birth in the early stages of labor it cleans you out I have never pooped giving birth
And usually in the last week of pregnancy you should experience diarrhea if you don't experience that cleansing of the bowels try eating more yogurt salad stay more hydrated and even a cup of coffee in the morning may help loosen everything up during your last week of pregnancy

I pooped with my first. And had an enema with my second. It's no big deal lots of women poop during labor. They just wipe it away so it doesn't get in the baby.

There is a higher chance that you will then not. I think its kinda funny. Lol try looking at it from a different perspective! At first i was like well how emberassing...and i was super worried but now ive come to terms with it and i mainly feel bad about whos ganna clean it up haha. But with or without your bm problems theres still a chance you will. Not garaunteed you will, but things happen. You could try asking for an enema before labor, that may decrease your chances but yeah...i hear a lot of the times they dont say anything if you do poo.

I don't think so because normally they don't let you eat anything during the whole time you're in labor
