Baby shampoo

Is there a big difference from Johnson's baby shampoo nd Johnson's baby head to toe wash ? Is the shampoo jus strictly for hair ?

So I did some quick Google searching and all I found is that aveeno hasn't been tested for these additives. Dont quote me though, that was just one study I read.

Ya Vernon is Johnson and johnson.  I highly recommend California Baby.  It is all natural.  You can find it at Target and at any health food store.  Or just go to a health food store and look.  I really find there are plenty of natural ones that arent that pricey.  And its worth an extra few dollars for your babies skin :-)

Aveeno is made by the johnson company. I'm not sure if it has the bad chemicals in it since it's milder for babies with  sensitive skin but you'll still be supporting the Johnson company.

Thank you for that information! My boyfriend is a health nut and insisted we not use Johnson products. I was so mad at him mainly because I was set on using their products! Not anymore.  I'll be sure to make sure no one buys Johnson products for the baby shower!

@newluv their lotions are considered ok, they dont have any of those ingredients in them. So if you want you can use those. It is just the washes. I personally won't use them on principle but that is just me.

Your welcome! Maybe if enough people hear about this it will force j&j to switch to a safer formulation quicker rather than waiting until it is cost effective for them!

Alleycat81 thanks for sharing that info! I'm pregnant with my second child (first was sadly a miscarriage ;/) and was so looking forward to using J&J, but now that I've read that its changed my whole perspective! I'll have to look online for other safe products instead.

I like burst bees shampoo and body wash.  Very gentle on my children's skin and not that bad a price.  But target also has a number of natural brands like California baby shampoo and body wash that are much better for baby.  I also make my own (burts bees is my backup) that is pretty much just coconut oil, almond oil and some essential oils.  Does a great job on their lil bodies and very cheap since your making it on your own and have time to do that (takes only like 5 minutes to whisk together) ;-)

I'm surprised my friend didn't inform .e of this. She is a health nut with 3 kids. I hate when you can't trust anything anymore :( sad world.

Yeah and it really doesn't make sense to me why they have to "faze" it out. I mean they are making it without these ingredients in other countries so why can't they just do that here?? I will just continue with my plain white dove soap for washing and I use a mixture of eucerin and aquaphor for moisturizing. She my not have that signature Johnson's baby smell but I am not slathering her in cancer causing agents and her hair and skin are baby soft. Glad I reached someone with this disturbing info!

Alleycat, thanks for the info. I had no idea Johnsons was doing that. I just looked it up and apparently, as of 4 months ago, their products still contain carcinogens. I'm outraged. I'll definitely be finding an alternative to their products.  This Web Page has a list of potentially harmful ingredients that should be avoided.

I had to stop using Johnson's because for the first several months my baby had sever eczema. Tried everything to get rid of it finally switched to plain white dove bar soap and she hasn't had a spot since. Awhile after I stopped using it I read an article that said that Johnson's uses carcinogens in their baby wash. The kicker is that they only do this in the us. It is banned for them to do so in all other countries!  Apparently they have said that they will be faxing out these ingredients over the next few years but... I wont be using their products again. Not trying to scare anyone just trying to get the info out there.
