I had a diagnosis of hypertension and tachycardia pre pregnancy which was controlled with lisinipril and metoprolol. After I became pregnant they switched my metoprolol to labetalol and took me off of lisinipril.Labetalol did NOT work!  Long story short,  over the eight and a half months I've had to stay on metoprolol and actually have it increased to 150mg twice a day.  Hopefully that's all that I Will have to have as i approach the final weeks of this pregnancy. Hypertension and pregnancy is scary stuff!

They put me on meds early. I'm normally 115/70 but when I get pregnant i always get high bp. This time I was 135/90 and they said I had some protein in urine. I'm on 100 mg of Labetalol twice a day

I was on nifedipine and labetalol with my first as my blood pressure was ridiculously high and going up every appointment (170/140 when I had my csection). This time ive just been on labetalol because it was over 160/90 for over 2wks. But both pregnancies I've been battling preeclamplsia.
