Bruised, swollen, & blistered bottom lip?

Hi!
I'm currently 5 months pregnant and my bottom lip is swollen, slightly bruised, and has a few small water blisters on the outside (almost like it was sunburned). It started out just slightly swollen and bruised a couple of days ago and has progressed. I don't have any known allergies and the only new thing I introduced was one dose of azithromycin (500 mg) a week ago. Wanted to know if it was something I needed to be concerned about. Thanks!

Hello~Your body could be having a mild reaction to the antibiotic. Since you are pregnant, I would call your doctor and let him/her know what is happening.

I am putting in a request for this post to be forwarded to one of our pregnancy forums, they may have some other ideas as well.

It sounds like a cold sore to me.  Very painful.  If that is what it is I found a simple cure (after 50 years of pain)  Rinse the area with Hydrogen Peroxide, if it is a cold sore (herpes virus), it will immediately feel better and be gone in a day or two.  Hydrogen Peroxide straight from the bottle is a 3% solution, many mouthwashes contain a 1.5% solution. The result is nothing short of amazing, I have no idea why this is not widely know.
