Cramps vs contractions?

Hi all. I'm not looking for a substitute for a doctors answer but just wondering if anyone can explain what a contraction feels like. I'm 25 weeks. I fell down the stairs yesterday and my pants were soaked so of course I called the dr and went in to make sure nothing was wrong. She said everything seemed fine so I was content. I woke up this morning with cramps. Period cramps so it's consistent pain. Everyone says contractions are on and off so I assume it's not preterm labor or anything. I don't want to be a hypochondriac and call the dr over normal cramps. I just haven't had cramps at all this pregnancy and then I get them after yesterday. :( I'm still feeling baby kick like normal so I don't know!

Im a ftm here too and that's y i talked to my Dr. Everyone kept telling me that they didn't hurt and they wernt constant but they lied lol. Come to find out they can be consistent but when they start getting closer and closer and can be timed then that's  a clue they are regular contractions. Iv had days where they last all day long :-\ its just our body getting ready for the real thing.

If they truly feel like pms cramps they could be braxton hicks. I started getting them around that time and that is exactly how i described them.to my doc. As bad pms cramps and he told me they were braxton hicks.

Thank you AprilDawn87! That makes me feel better. They are still there now. I guess I'll give it until tomorrow and hopefully they will be gone. Pregnancy sure does make you worry about everything lol!

I would imagine it's just pain from the fall. But if they get more intense or don't go away or you have spotting then I would call your doctor. Try a heating pad or a warm bath. You'll know if it's contractions. They will come and go and be very painful. Good luck
