Diarrhea before labor?

Hey mommas! I'm 40 weeks today (hooray!!!!). I woke up this morning with lots of diarrhea. Which is odd, because I feel otherwise fine and haven't had diarrhea in 5 or 6 years. I've read it can be a sign of early labor. Did anyone else experience diarrhea before the onset of labor, and if so, how long afterwards did labor begin?

I was induced at 42.4 weeks with our first, so I never had the opportunity to experience the onset of natural labor.

Yes exactly what nutz19 said. My last pregnancy it was my sign of labor , I had diarrhea and lots if pressure along with back pain. But this pregnancy I've had it on and off all pregnancy like a stomach flu. Good luck.

Cleaning you out before the big day gets here is what my grandma n mother use to say it could last for weeks. Sounds to me like your right on task! Good luck

Thanks for the answers. :) I'm still having it on and off 4 days later....and still no sign of bubs. :/ So it's more likely that pregnancy is just doing crazy things to my body.

I had it with my second labour but i had when i was in labour

It can be a sign, but everyone is different pregnancy can do all sorts or weird and wacky things to us, I get loose bowels on and off through out pregnancy so I can't help you there. But I hope you go naturally this time. Good luck
