Expectant Mother Parking

I went to the grocery store today with my 14 year old son. He asked me if I was going to park in the expectant mothers spot. I told him no because I didn't feel right parking there because I wasn't very far along (I'm 12 weeks). He said but your expecting so you should park there. I then explained my belief of those spots...that I felt they should be saved and used by those women who are further along in their pregnancies or who are having complications and shouldn't walk far. I told him I was still early and had no problem parking a few spaces away to save the space for someone who may need it more than me. He accepted that. But then as we were walking in and passed by the spot we saw a man park in the space (no  woman with him)...my son just looked at me and said "he doesn't look pregnant...you should have taken it"

Thank you @aruth. Only a couple of stores have that parking space and some require a sticker. Others, like Buy Buy Baby has that spot for women for first come first serve.

We don't have stickers for them down in Texas...at least that I know of...I think it would be better if we did. It ***** that you are having trouble getting one.

Lol...I understand that. It really irritated me that I went through that whole speech with my son and then a MAN without any lady parked in it! I went and said something to the store manager too when I got inside. I shop there all the time so I know the employees pretty well. This is a Kroger.

Aww that is so sweet of you. I'm 37+1 and am on moderate bed rest and am allowed on my feet for a max of 2 hours a day. So when I see those spots available I do a sigh of relief and get a little happy inside. :) But there's no way I would be upset if a pregnant woman parked there. Now a man, who is alone, I think that's messed up. That's me personally. But I have been to the DMV asking for the stickers for those spaces and they told me to get it from my hospital and my hospital acts like they have no clue what I am talking about. I just want one so I can park in the expected and new mother's spaces- without getting fined.
