FTM, 2 week old baby boy.

So as of like a week ago, he has developed this tendency to be extremely fidgety in the mornings mostly, and sometimes in the evenings... I know babies don't just lie there making no noise, but I just want to make sure extreme fidgety-ness is normal and that he is okay... I mean like arms flailing, hands all over face and in mouth, head twisting, body jerking around and back arching. Sometimes he cries along with it, sometimes not... He just gets really crazy. I've seen some very calm babies, I guess I have never seen such an active baby. He will be fed, changed, burped, warm and happy... so I feel like he isn't happy or something is wrong when he gets like that. Anyone else have overactive babies?

My baby is a little over two weeks and she will do the same thing.  If she had eaten enough and changed I realized sometimes it's just gas.  I'll push her legs up to her chest once she farts she's ok

I agree with the previous poster, the arching usually means pain. I would try propping him up a bit after eating for 20min or so. Maybe sit him in a bouncy seat or something similar.

Arching the back can be a sign of acid reflux, although Dr offices don't diagnose that til they are a few months older....does he spit up often? You may need to keep him more upright than just flat for a while after he eats

Maybe he has collics? Which makes his tummy to hurt and they get really fussy. But I would consult a pediatrician to make sure
