FTM might be a dumb question :/

So im not so sure what braxton hicks are. Can someone explain?
Also how do contractions feel?
Im 26 weeks and today literally about 1 hr ago i started getting a bad stomach pain every 4 to 5 minutes lasting a few sec to a minute. Now idk what it is. Its not like cramping i cant even explain it, its just pain and uncomfortable where i have to stop what im doing. Could it just be stomach pain since i ate like at 11pm and normally nevwr do. Any advice would help thnx

I've had a few bad Braxton hicks. Where's I've had to stop what I'm going. If this happens again, my suggestion is to have a nice cold glass of water, put your feet up and try and relax. Stress is a good one to help them get worse. But if you are at all worried call your midwife/doctor. Xx

Braxton hicks are tightening of the abdomen that comes and goes. Unlike true labor, Braxton Hicks contractions:
Are usually not painful
Don’t happen at regular intervals
Don’t get closer together
Don’t increase when you walk
Do not last longer as they go on
Do not feel stronger over time
