@IrishJam i had a mango smoothy, a half avocado sandwich with a bowl of soup from panera less than 15mins of the 1hr test. I was so full i thought i was going to puke especially since i was nervous about the test. But i came out negative and everything was fine. I really dont think that test is accurate. Its not tailored to everyone's weight (same amount of drink is given no matter your size) and they dont do enough explaining for me
I failed my 1 hr test (took it in the afternoon, had mango smoothie, tunna casserole and high carb meal b4 the test) my reading after an hr was 150. Took the 4 hr test and passed all levels after fasting at midnight. Took that one in the morning. I really funny think the 1hr test is a valid way to tell.
I took the 4 hr glucose test and i'm glucose intolerant (not gd yet). My bloodwork was normal at 1hr, 3hrs and 4hrs but at the 2hr mark my glucose spiked to 190. My dr said you have to fail two to be considered gd. I still have to test my sugar and modify my diet to prevent it from becoming gd. Im still waiting to go to the nutritionist to get a better idea of what to do. Im suppose to go on the 2200 ada diet. My dr said if i dont theres a 70% chance it will become gd in a month. Im 33 weeks now.
I did the 1st hour failed, waited 2 hours and failed again. Dr gave me metformin and I need to control my diet :( 4 test a day to monitor my glucose level, if it still high will have to be on insulin injection ..
You can always deny the test. You know that right?? You don't have to do anything you don't want to. Don't let them bully you. If you passed I wouldn't stress about another you, forget that
I passed it in the last hour but i got to take another 1hr test in 4weeks. I dnt understand why i have to take another one if i passed the 4hr test...
I have GD...my numbers were so high after taking the 1 hour test that they didn't even bother giving me another one..if you have it they put you on a strict diet, I check my blood sugar 4 times a day, and I'm on meds. Hope it goes better for you
I did the 3 hour after failing the 1 hr and i passed
These tests aren't really accurate. I had a full meal with a mango smoothy from panera bread amd my test was still negative from my hour test. I wouldn't be alarmed unless after you take the drink you start shaking or feel really weird like pass out weird than you're most likely OK. Ask what your blood sugar measured when you failed vs how its supposed to be and also request to measure your own blood sugar at home if you really think they're wrong.
Although it's not "fun" it goes away after the birth and it's very easily managed. I hope that you don't have it but it's certainly common and not the worst news you could get. Hang in there, you've got this!! :)
