HCG Levels

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice (or reassurance)On Monday I found out I was pregnant- JUST. I think I was 7 days past Ovulation at that point. On the Toesday I had my bloods done and my HCG level was 20. 48 Hours later my HCG level was 28. The Dr in the Early Pregnancy Unit said that it hasn't risen enough and I will probably miscarry. My own GP said that, at this very early stage the HCG will not have started the pattern of doubling every 48-72 hours.
Has anyone else been in this position or has any advice?

Most of the time if your pregnancy does not match the exact norm, doctors will prepare you mentally for a miscarriage.  I did have the same situation but it was when I was 5 weeks along.  In a 48 hr span my hcg levels only went up 20%.  I waited it out until I hit 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat and now have a healthy 13 month old baby boy.  As far as your blood next week.  Definately hope it doubles, but my doctor told me that if it didnt double in the first place, it may never double.  It could just be your body.  I never got more blood work to figure out if it ever doubled at all.  What you do want is a rise in numbers.  As long as it doesnt fall, keep the hope alive!  Good Luck to you!

it is early days yet so there would not be enough pregnancy hormone in your blood for it to double. i had bloods taken 14 days after ovulation then again 24hrs later it did not double but did incease a little bit so i would hang in there and wait a few more days then have bloods taken again.

with my second daugher I was by me RE because of my hcg levels that it is unlikely that this pregnancy will result in a baby... I will remember those words forever.. I took 5 days off and told my little bean to hold on... she is now 6 and perfect!

i would just wait and then call the doc for another test thats all i can say. i was early preg and my level was 97 and then they dropped to 27 then 25 so if they are going up then i would consider that good. dont forget everyone is different and i ma not an expert so i think it might be a waiting game.
