HSG dye does not flow into uterus

Hi all!
We have been TTC for the past 18 months with no luck. I was diagnosed hypothyroid and now with a stable TSH level too, no luck.
So I finally went for an HSG today. The doctor tried pretty hard to get the dye to flow through my uterus, but it just did not. So I do not know if I have blocked tubes or a bigger issue. There's not much help out there about this and I read about fibroids and polyps, it scares me all the more :( We have no kids as yet and I hope to have atleast 2 some day. Anyways, can someone tell me if they had a similar experience and what was their future course of action?

Thanks much!

Okay,  a few questions...  (btw, I'm not a dr.; I can only suggest things based on what I've learned from patients and from my own personal experience)

1. Did the Radiologist actually say both tubes are blocked?  Do you have the hsg report?

2. Do you exercise on a normal basis?

3. Have you taken ovulation tests in the past?

4. Do you have both ovaries?  Do you have any surgical history on your pelvic area?

5. Are you and SO  trying anything in particular to try to conceive besides simply having sex without contraception?

These are all very personal questions.  Feel free to respond via messaging me instead of continuing with this post.  It' completely up to you.

I've been in your shoes.  It took me also 1.5 yrs of ttc before I changed a few things in my life.  Now I'm preg with baby #4. Don't lose hope.  It'll happen for you too.

SonoTech55, The dye did not enter the uterus at all. I mean it just about entered but was not moving forward right at the uterus. It never reached the tubes. Could you help me!

Rbits, please clarify.  Did the dye enter your uterus and not the tubes, or did it not enter the uterus at all?  I ask because those are two completely different problems with different solutions.  So before I get into all of the possibilities,  I was hoping for more info...   (if you are willing)

My friend had the same issue she went for the dye test because she was ttc for 4 years with no luck well it took them 4 different times to insert the dye before they were able to get it successfully done they told her it was because she had a tilted uterus
