Hey ladies, I need some advice on fibromyalgia!

I am 29 years old with severe fibromyalgia, arthritis,  lower protruding disc damage to my spine and PTSD. I found out almost 3 weeks ago that I am pregnant. I am now almost 9 weeks pregnant! Still in shock as I didn't think I could conceive at all. (My little miracle). I am on morphine based drugs as well as many others. I have halved the morphine already which I am finding very painful but I am willing to do what ever it takes to have a healthy baby! The father currently doesn't want to be involved either which is making it more difficult. Does anybody suffer with the same sort of conditions and can offer some advice on different pain remedies? I'm really scared! I had my scan last week which confirmed baby has a healthy heart beat and is growing well. I'm just in a lot of pain xx

I'm 27, and have all the same issues. Ptsd, fibromyalgia, and a slipped disk in my lower back. I personally never had any success with any pharmaceutical medication. I dealt with insane amounts of pain through my back and legs. I was lucky enough to figure a few things out before I got pregnant... number 1 for me was dealing with the mental aspect of the fibro. I was recommended medical marijuana IN CONJUNCTION WITH therapy. I found a therapist who specialized in fibromyalgia and Ptsd. Once I addressed the underlying problem that caused my Ptsd, I stopped using medical mj and started doing yoga and practicing mindfulness meditation. I got out of a very painful fibromyalgia period with the things I mentioned above, and have not had an episode in over a year. Like I said before, I stopped using med. mj but then started again for my back pain thinking I might have another episode about 10 months ago. When it never came, I stopped again. Haven't smoked since 3 months before I got pregnant.  I'm now just past the 5 month mark. The only problem I'm having is my disk, which I don't take anything for. I don't sleep well because of it,  and I started swimming in hopes of getting some pain relief. So far I'm doing alright, just happy to be carrying two healthy twin girls!  I know a lot of people might not approve of how I treated my Ptsd and fibromyalgia,  but it saved my life and it worked for me. Please try therapy, if you are open it, it WILL help. And let me know if you have any questions.

I am being induced tomorrow. I will be 39 weeks. The last month has been the hardest on my joints especially my back, / knees and shoulders. I stay as active as I can and rest when I have to. Yoga stretches and my exercise ball have really helped. I did have to leave work sooner than I wanted to but everything will work out I hope :-)

I have chronic pain from several disc problems. I also take a number of medications to control my pain normally. I am medication free for my pregnancies though. Some days are harder than others. In addition to the typical heat, ice, stretching, i also see a chiropractor who has experience with pregnant women and i use a tens unit.

I too have fibro and am at 37 weeks. I had to come off most of my medicine but rely on my heating pad, magnesium salt baths and found some natural remedies to add to my meals. My flares are mainly triggered by weather and stress. Stretching is often painful but does help. I keep reminding myself that it is all worth it and keep a positive frame of mind. I still have my days that I can't move, and once your hormones relax your joint muscles it does seem to make it worse. Just stay as active and mobile as you can without overdoing it. All the pain will be blocked out the moment you hold your precious bundle. Congrats!!!
