Hi ladies- I just wanted to share that you might get a bit more support and tricks to help cope if you post a new comment/question. Most people see the original date being so old and pass it by. One tip I can share that did wonders for me (I ended up Physical Therapy with my first pregnancy due to the pain early on) was having my husband stand behind me with my legs shoulder width apart and I leaned over a table and he would squeeze my hips together. This is also a trick you can use while in labor.

I'm 10 weeks now, and for the last 2 weeks I have had the worst hip pain I have ever felt. And I know its not from inactivity, as I am constantly moving around at home and in the yard. Glad to know someone else is experiencing this, as I kept thinking it was way to early to have these pains. However, the only difference in my life happens to be pregnancy. Sorry to hear your friends don't believe you, but you are not alone.

I am almost 12 weeks, and my hips are killing me!!! they hurt so much!! I walk around like if I was 9 months already. My two friends, both 8 months pregnant think I'm exagerating.
But it really hurts,
I tried Yoga last night, all hip positions. It really helped, but it's still there, and I've never heard any pregnant woment get hip pain this early.

I'm not sure if I'm pregnant, its not time for my missed period until Monday. However, my hips are killing me and my appetite seems to be increasing. Could I be pregnant?

I just ready your post and was interested. My period is a week late and I am wondering if I am pregnant. I have taken 3 home preggo tests and they have all came out negative. Everytime I feel a pain it makes me curious. I haven't had a lot of symptoms besides my period being late but today at work I was moving furniture (I'm a teacher and was getting my room ready) and I started having cramping/sharp pain in my lower abdomen and my hips and back ache now. I can't decide if I am just out of shape and that's why I am hurting or if it really is because I am pregnant?  I didn't know if the symptoms were showing up since I was really active today?

Thanks ladies I know this is an old discussion but I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my first and have also been experiencing these symptoms. I'll talk with my obstatracian when I see him this week but I have been having bad lower back pain for 3 weeks + now and have in the last week been experiencing severe hip pain (mainly my left) particularly in the morning and at night. It mainly happens if I have been sitting or lying in one position for about 15min or longer. It was so severe tonight I had to get my husband to help me sit up and stand. It is winter here and the cold seems to be aggravating it. It is also much worse after nights when I exercise (yoga, walking etc). I used a warm heat pack on my lower back tonight and that helped heaps. Good luck all and I hope your beautiful children are happy and healthy now. Thanks again for easing my fears that something was wrong

hmm... i'm not a runner and i have hip pain about 3 days a week!  M, T, W.  Yup, I know the days.  I'm 11 weeks pregnant (with my second child) and have been having this hip pain for a few weeks now.  I freaked out every Wed because I worry that maybe i'm having a miscarriage and that's why my hips are hurting.  my ob/gyn said it's normal.  i'm starting to suspect that my hip pain is actually due to inactivity.  i sit at my office on the weekends for 20 hours!  or maybe just the sudden shift in heavy activities (taking care of a toddler) on Monday trigger the hip pain?  there is also an old wife's tale that you shouldn't drink, especially cold stuff, while standing up post-partum.  the consequence is painful bones at an old age.  as a rebellious person, of course i didn't listen.  so, maybe the old wife's tale is true after all...  =(

Boy this makes me feel better. I am now 4 weeks and 5 days. I am also a runner. Last week before I found out I was pregnant I ran 24 miles (I'll probably cut back to 15 to 20 a week). After my last run my hips were so sore that I thought maybe I had overdone it. Then Sunday I got my positive. I was thinking that there is no way this could have been a preggo symptom, but seems like it may be. I also want to note this is my second and I never felt this with my first.

I'm a runner, and I'm only 5 weeks too.  Early in the week that I found out I was pg is when I started to notice a difference in my running.  Loss of breath a lot faster, and my knees and hips hurt afterwards.  I think if I didn't run I wouldn't notice these changes yet, but because I'm active and have been my whole life (played tennis in college and have had lots of joint problems), it's more noticeable and sooner.  I thought I was nuts for feeling this early, but that's all I can think is the difference.  THe temp just got cold here a few days ago, so it couldn't be that??  Best of luck!

I have had hip pain practically my entire pregnancy. It's especially bad if I lay/sleep on my side. I asked my dr about it and she said it's just everything moving around. If it's severe you should ask your dr.

You already have a little one or two right?  I think I remember reading that.  Anyway, I got the pains much earlier with this one and had hip pains at the end of my first trimester too, from all of the pulling and stretching and moving of things.  Couldn't hurt to call your Dr., it's probably just things moving or a nerve getting pinched.  I hope it gets better for you.  I went in yesterday for an appt. and have been cramping and getting backaches already at 29 weeks.  With my son I felt great till around 36 weeks then I felt huge and miserable.  I'm already starting to feel really uncomfortable now.  Dr. said it's totally normal since your body has been through it already it starts all of those wonderful things earlier.  I am constantly having to slow donw or I set off Braxton Hicks and am up peeing about 4 times a night already.  Get ready for it.  Congrats on your new little one though, how exciting you are about to the second trimester!
