How do I know if I lost my mucus plug or if its something else? I have had two kids before but never lost my plug or at the very least saw it. Any advice?

You may pass it in the toilet and not know.  But yes it's snotty, but not always bloody.  If you pass it in your panties you'll know for sure.

I lost mine and it reformed so I got to lose it twice. I dilated to a 1/2 by 33 weeks but nothing else happened till 3 days After my due date.

My doctor says the mucus plug tells you nothing. I lost mine early with both pregnancies.

I'm 1cm dilated and have started losing it in pieces. It did look like a snot ball there was no blood in it. I still have about 4-5 weeks to go. They are talking about taking him out a week early because he's very small only in the 3rd percentile luckily over the past 2 weeks he's grown into the 16th. So as long as he stays on his growth path then they'll let me go full term. Both of my daughter's weren't very big either my oldest was 7lbs 2oz 19 3/4" inch long my youngest was 7lbs and 19"inch. So I don't think he'll be very much bigger then that. I want to thank you guys for you comments have you guys had any issues like this?

You shouldn't lose it until your cervix is partially dilated, maybe around 37 or 38 weeks. You probably won't feel anything and may not even see anything. It will look like something you sneezed out lol. Sometimes it's bloody, also called bloody show.

Thanks hun. I was just worried because I'm only 35 weeks. He's also measuring very small like 2 weeks behind what he should be. I did look it up like you said and omg so gross...from the sound and look of it i am losing it a little bite at a time. Again thank you

It looks like bloody snot. Kinda. I know you can loose little bits at a time and it can also reform back again. I lost mine in little bits for my daughter. She's my 3Rd and I didn't know what it was at first because I had never had that with my other two. Look up pictures of it I know it sounds gross but it will help you out alot.
