Is it my mucus plug?

I will be 36 weeks tomorrow. This is my second child. Possibly tmi so apologies in advance,  I woke up this morning and had to pee (you know, the morning routine) and when I stood up I felt a big glob hit my leg. I wiped it off and it was a long string of clear whitish snot looking discharge. It was sticky too. My husband and I didn't do the deed or anything last night so I know it's not semen but it looks like it. I remember losing my mucus plug with my first but I don't remember what it exactly looked like. Was that a part of my mucus plug?

Also, for veteran moms, around what time did you lose your mucus plug and how long after did you go into labor? Has anyone lost the plug around 36 weeks and went into labor shortly after?

I'm hoping this is a sign labor isn't too far away because I don't want to be 6 days late like I was with my first. My first cervix check is Wednesday.

Hello the mucus plug replenished itself throughout your pregnancy. It's more noticeable in some women than others. When you lose your actual mucus plug, it should have a brown tinge to it out even just bloody. Labor normally sets in within a few hours after that. If it isn't like that then it is just normal yucky pregnancy discharge. Good luck!

It may have been but losing your plug is not a sure sign of labor unfortunately. U can lose your plug many weeks before labor actually starts. A more sure sign of impending labor, is if the mucus had blood in it. A lot of the time discharge of egg white consistancy isnt the mucus plug, but rather normal cervical secretions. Ive had it like that on and off throughout my entire pregnancy
